My furniture designs are based on a philosophy that furniture should be both beautiful and useful. My furniture is meant to be used every day and make your life both easier and more enjoyable; but it is also solid enough to withstand the abuse of daily life while retaining its beauty. My furniture is solid wood, with only limited use of veneers and other delicate materials. It is made primarily from local sustainable hardwoods, such as cherry, walnut, oak, and maple. Where exotic woods are used, they are used judiciously and obtained from sustainable sources. My designs are inspired by the simplicity and clean lines Shakers, the solid designs of the Craftsman movement, and natural forms I find along the sea shore, forests, and mountains of Maine.
